I Australien, utvecklat ett unikt botemedel mot grå starr
Forskare från University of Adelaide i Australien (Adelaide University i Australien) har utvecklat en revolutionerande läkemedel som bromsar utvecklingen av grå starr och förhindrar dess bildande.
Starr är den vanligaste orsaken till blindhet i världen. Mer än hälften av personer över 65 år lider av sjukdomen på ett eller båda ögonen. Tyvärr finns det inga effektiva läkemedel för behandling, men kirurgi utförs för att avlägsna linsen i ögat, utan istället konfigurera en konstgjord lins. Enligt vd Tim Lovell Calpain Therapeutics, kan ett läkemedel tas fram i form av droppar eller salva, som ska behandlas ögonen varje kväll innan sängen.
