Global Kunskap (Global Knowledge) is Swedish NGO established 2006, aiming to support organisation in incrising the knowledge about global warming and at the same time give peopel possibility to take action.
Projekt for plantation of 200 000 rubber- and 900 000 cacao trees in Siri Lanka – Mitigating millions of tons of Green House Gas (GHG) and Reducing Poverty.-

Wordview Impact Ltd is a registred company with Board of Investment, Siri Lanka. Global Kunskap and worldwide Impact are currently working together in several projekt to create better living conditions for all.

Global warming has become an inconvenient truth and dramatic changes are in progress. The challenge for industrialised countries is to reduce green house gas emissions with 50% by 2050.
The aim of our decision of taking sction is to support the global challaenge by creating projects with maximum impact in mitigating GHG and at the same time reducing poverty, an eqully urgent challenge.

The projekt
Global kunssskap is currantly implementing and marketing the possibillities for individuals and organisations to financilly contribute to the projekt in Siri Lanka. The projekt will be daiming the following targets:

*mitigation minimum 1,6 million of tons GHG from 1 200 000 rubber trees and 900 00 cocoa trees.
* Sustainiable livelihood with tangible economic impact to over 25 000 peopel in the Moneragala district in Siri Lanka
*providing healt and education facilities for the peopel in the area
* Saving over 250 000 tons of carbon by use of organic fertilizers insted of carbon based chemical fertilizers
* production of biogas for energy use in the prodution process
*establishment of mini hydro plants for electricity production
*Promoting business enterprses and providing transport and communication facilities
*protection of nature and wildlife.

Mitigating climate change and reducing poverty.
There is an urgent need for a new approach in meeting global warming, social economic and developmental targets. In combining these targets, the overall priority is to provide rapid impact in the area.

Our aims are to facillitate a climate solution by planting fast growing rubber trees to mitigate GHG emission. Cocao trees will be planted as undergrowth in the shadow of the rubber trees, thus increasing GHG mitigation.
Added enviromentalbenefits are the use of organic fertilizers which will save 250 000 tons of carbon, and the establishment of bio energy plants and mini hydro plants to produces clean energy.

The mitigation of ’CO2’ by planting fast growing rubber trees has an immediate effect, which continues until the harvestin of trees on maturity (31 years) and thereafter with new planting.

The benefit to poverty reduction will be achieved instantly, both by the planting of rubber and cocoa trees, as well as other crops for in-planting according to local environmental stabdards.
The projekt is committed to prioritize basic needs of the local population befor distribution of profit. In line with its commitment to social responsible manegment, the project will pay the workers 50% above minimum wages, including social benefits.

Addition knowledge will be shared with local communities in trading on the clearing of lands, marking of compost, producing of micro organisms for fertilisers and on techniques to maintain forest and plantations with the levels of return.

The project will be implemented in cooperation with social responsible investors and individuals all over the world.

Plantation investment is a long term commitment. The first income is after 6 years after planting. It reaches breakeven after 10 years, with a peak after 15 years, providing a total profit of USD 6,9 million after return of invetment. This represent 5% average profit of investment capital per year.

The project also represents a unique investment opportunity from enviromental and social perspectiv with carbon trading as an economic incentiveve.
